Design

One system. Built from the hill, not the screen.

Every colour, typeface and part this site uses, on one page. The theme defines them once as tokens, each with a light and a dark value, and the plugins’ blocks draw from the same tokens. Press the toggle in the header and the whole page follows.

There is always soup.

Wildstride

The home club. Trail and fell running for every pace, twice a week.

Northfell, Cumbria, United Kingdom

Wildstride started here. About 80 of us meet on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, we regroup at every junction, and your first three runs are free. Most of the race weekend crew come from these runs.

Voice

A short sentence beside a long one. Plain verbs. Real detail about the real event.

Not this

Wildstride isn’t just a run. It’s a transformative journey that empowers you to unleash your potential across an ever-evolving landscape.

Leverage our seamless platform to embark on a testament to endurance.

This

Forty-three kilometres (27 miles) along an exposed ridge, in December. You’ll want poles and a spare layer. There’s soup at the end and a fire to dry out by.

Registration takes two minutes. Capped at 300 so the trail doesn’t turn into a queue.

Guardrails

  • × Purple, violet or indigo as a hue, anywhere.
  • × Gradient-filled headline words.
  • × Glass effects, soft glows, rainbow drop shadows.
  • × Rows of giant numbers that mean nothing; clutters of pill badges.
  • × Emoji in headings; everything centred in one column.
  • × Rankings, leaderboards, series points. Out of scope by design.
One exception, on purpose. Gradients are on the list above. The sky gradient is used knowingly: on the top edge and the call-to-action band only, kept off buttons and text, and routed round purple so it stays a real sky.
